Riding Lessons

Private, semi-private, and group lessons are offered to give young horse-lovers access to horses and an opportunity to learn how to ride, have clear communication and quality horsemanship to prevent harm to both horse and rider.

IHCYR is a helmet facility. All riders must wear a helmet while riding at the ranch at all times.

Requirements:

  1. Ages 9+ with a desire to learn (8 and under may have private lessons on a child- by-child basis)
  2. Helmets required
  3. Long pants
  4. Shoes or boots with a heel; no tennis shoes!

  2. Elizabeth Squires
  3. All instructors are CHA certified.

Riding Instruction Fees
Private lesson $40/hr
Semi-private $30/hr
Group of 3 $25/hr
Group of 4+ $20/hr

A portion of all riding instruction fees goes to the care and upkeep of IHCYR, but only gifts above the set fees are tax deductible.

Saddle-Up Classes

Saddle Up Classes

Saddle-Up classes provide students with information on horse safety, nutrition, horse behavior, riding skills, grooming skills, and the ability to control a horse. All classes are overseen by a CHA certified instructor.

Classes run for four weeks and may be started at any time.

Thursday Classes:

1:00 pm Advanced and intermediate students

2:30 pm Beginning students

Friday Classes:

2:20 pm All levels of students

Pre-register for all classes and activities! Drop-offs are not accepted!

Thursday 2:30 - 4:00 pm
Friday 2:30 - 4:00 pm
1st Saturday 1:00 - 4:30 pm

Second and Third Saturday of every month there are group lessons by appointment only.

Fourth Saturday of every month is a Horse Show / Clinic from 12:00 - 4:30pm.

Closed on the fifth Saturday of the month. Call your instructor for details.
